What does innovation in wastewater treatment and water reuse look like?

Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority’s Hesperia Subregional Reclamation Plant, a past CWEA award recipient, offers an impressive example.

This 1 MGD scalping facility reduces demand on the regional pipeline while supporting localized water reuse. By treating the liquid portion of wastewater and redirecting solids to the main facility, the plant helps improve overall system performance.

Its advanced treatment processes—including aeration basins, membrane bioreactors, UV disinfection, and reclaimed water pump stations—support the reliable delivery of recycled water for non-potable use.
