Cinnamongirl has officially kicked off our 2026-27 cohort year, and we have the same hope that this parent shared during our application process.

Many students have the opportunity to travel the world, but rarely do students of color have the chance to travel with people that look like them. It’s the little moments where you can help each other with your hair opposed to explaining why you need 5 products, you don’t wash your hair everyday, and your bonnet to sleep is essential. That’s the beauty of traveling with Cinnamongirl.

We are just days away from our first official Cinnamongirl meeting of the 2026-2027 cohort year. Last week we had a premeeting to kick us off and allow parents to get informed and the cinnamongirls to get to know each other!

Missing the food, family and fun from our annual beginning of the Cinnamongirl year barbecue. But at least will all be together again soon for the official beginning of Cinnamongirl programming!

Thank you Daraja Academy fro welcoming us into your home. It was an honor to meet and connect with your girls and it is truly something our Cinnamongirls thought was invaluable. Whenever we make it back to Kenya, we will be sure to come by again ♥️

Visiting Daraja Academy was a life changing experience for our girls. We think that anyone taking a trip to Kenya would enjoy a visit and stay there.

Thank you to everyone that made it out to our annual family barbecue! It was so exciting to welcome our new families and see some familiar faces join us as returning Cinnamongirls. We’re so excited to officially kick off our Saturday classes soon!

“These experiences were absolutely the result of CG!”

In 2024, our very own Serena was named one of 10 Girls Leading Change, which brought her to Washington D.C. to meet First Lady Jill Biden and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Not because she stumbled into it. Because she did the work, and then Cinnamongirl opened the door of opportunity.

These are the rooms our girls deserve to be in. Thank you Dr. Jill Biden and Joe Biden for welcoming Serena in to your home.

At Cinnamongirl we build confidence, belonging, and leadership for girls of color, and we put them in spaces that expand what they believe is possible.
