New Orleans was truly one for the books. 🎷🧡

Thanks to for curating experiences that didn’t just take our girls to New Orleans — it took them inside it. Black culture, Black history, Black resilience. Every stop was intentional. Every moment had meaning.

As we prepare to send our high schoolers on their annual international trip, we can’t help but look back at everything our younger girls experienced this year and feel so full. The Tremé. The Lower Ninth Ward. The food. The stories. The conversations that changed them. Be sure to check out our reel that details more of what they learned.

One day these same girls will be boarding a long haul flight with their sisters, seeing the world the way only Cinnamongirls do. We are already looking forward to that day. 🌍

Until then — New Orleans, thank you. You gave our girls something no classroom ever could.

When we say Cinnamongirls go on to do extraordinary things — this is what we mean.

Miss Representation: Rise Up premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this week — and three of our alumni are in it. Lea Williamson, Taylor Sky Criswell, and Serena Griffin. Lea has spent this week on panels in New York and D.C. speaking to audiences about representation, power, and what it means to rise up.

They were girls in our program once. Now they’re making films and leading conversations that move culture.

It’s always a joy to be at the Bay Area Book Festival! Cinnamongirls partnered up to co-MC read-aloud sessions featuring picture book authors. Girls were paired across age groups—high schoolers with middle schoolers and middle schoolers with elementary schoolers—to facilitate connection outside of their cohorts and natural leadership and mentorship opportunities.

As we closed out our program year, we reflected with the girls on leadership development and self-knowledge. In that reflection the girls identified what kind of leader they want to be and this is what we heard.

Kenya wasn’t just a destination, it was a classroom.

Last summer, our Cinnamongirl high schoolers visited The Green Belt Movement () stayed at an eco-safari camp running entirely on solar ( ) , learned about a self-taught Nairobi artist at the .art.agency and came home understanding environmental justice in a way no textbook could teach.

This is what we mean when we say our trips are curated with intention.

Every stop. Every conversation. Every experience — chosen to expand what our girls believe is possible.
