Beast Crawl is not a singular event, place or time. It is a confluence of writers, performing artists, musicians, and other like-minded souls, dreaming transformation into life on the streets, sidewalks, and community spaces of our beloved Oakland. The focus has always been on the East Bay but the invitations have always been to the world, welcoming artists to "The Town" where the locals and the rest of the world come together. The Beast Crawls on Four Legs
When "East Bay" is translated from pig latin to English, the result is "Beast." While many Beast Crawl Festivals have traditionally gone on four legs, we are fashioning new ways to present the Festival. Beyond
Beast Crawl Lit Fest is preparing to step into new media and new commitments to accessible, leveraged platforms of literature, as we reach out to the wider world we all share.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26, 2025 kicking off at 12 Noon at Chapter 510 & The Dept. of Make/Believe.
Join us for an unforgettable weekend of creativity and support! We’re thrilled to announce our big fundraising event and the Trans Writer’s Workshop Anthology Launch at Chapter 510 on Saturday, July 26, which promises a powerful accompanying lineup.
The fun continues the following day with our Book Fair, Open Mic, and fundraiser on Sunday, July 27, also based in and around Chapter 510.
