I couldn't stop thinking about the library at Yellow Dog Eats that I didn't know about! My mind was so stuck on it I just had to stop by on Thanksgiving since my parents live very close. What a wonderful library and spot.

Just added some middle grade chapter books and a few pictures books to one of my favorite little libraries in downtown Windermere. I often just leave books and don't take any.

This library could use some donation love if you have any you would like to leave. Otherwise I left a Smurfs Christmas book and Who Was Rosa Parks among others! Go get em!

Are you interested in starting your own Little Free Library? We have quite a few in the area but definitely parts of town that could use one!

Some of these DIY libraries look awfully complicated unless you have someone really handy nearby, but they may inspire you to use something around your house

From wine barrels to filing cabinets, check out objects creative builders repurposed into Little Free Libraries.

Hello Oakland, our lovely neighbor to Winter Garden! 🌟

While taking my daughter to her summer camp at Oakland Nature Preserve, I stumbled upon a delightful surprise—a Little Free Library at Oakland Avenue Charter School that isn't on the map yet! 📚✨

This charming LFL, complete with an official charter number, is a vibrant addition to the community. It's decorated with signatures from the Brownie Troop that set it up, making it even more special. Since it's located at an elementary school, it's filled with children's books. If you have any books to donate or are looking for something new for the young readers in your life, this is a fantastic spot to check out.

I believe every school should have one of these wonderful libraries. Happy reading, everyone! 😊📖❤️

My daughter loves being what I call "book santa"! We stopped at one of my favorite libraries in the area. Is this yours? Isn't it beautiful? I was able to grab a book for me....anyone remember this series? I looked on my shelf this morning and pulled out a few I had already read to pass along and left a few adult books goodies. If you see one you want to read go and grab it!

Did you know that in order to be called a "little free library" you need to register with the Little Free Library site and purchase a charter plaque? Even if you don't do that it's still wonderful to have free libraries around town.

I last visited this library right by Windermere City Hall maybe five years ago? It wasn't in the best shape and seemed like it might have been a place either that books just got randomly dumped or perhaps had a leak letting water in. I have an overabundance of books right now, donations are amazing but when they all come at once it's a lot to juggle! I decided to visit this library to see if I could add to it. I was pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful fixed up cabinet and a full selection of books! I did take them all out to rearrange a bit, I can't help myself, and found a few things that were ruined or garbage shoved in there. I added a few treasures and hope someone goes soon to either pick up Unbroken (so good!! ) or the Sand bucket List. What a sweet book about things to do with your kids before they grow up. 🥹🥰

Happy reading!!

Do you know how to find the Little Free Libraries in our community?

Many of them are mapped on the Little Free Library website: https://littlefreelibrary.org/map/. There's even an app where you can check in, get additional information about each library, and leave a message.

According to the website, we have 18 Little Free Libraries in our area, but I know of at least two more that aren't listed!

How many Little Free Libraries have you visited in our community?

Find Little Free Libraries near you on the world map. Share your location to see little libraries in your area, or search by city, state/province, zip code, or country.

Hello, everyone! I'm Melissia Bruehl, a resident of Winter Garden for 11 years and the proud steward of the Little Free Library at Keene's Crossing Elementary. As a lifelong book lover and a mother to children who share my passion for reading, I'm excited to create this space to connect with our community.

The mission of Little Free Library is "to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book-exchange boxes." I created this page to spread awareness about Little Free Libraries, unite local stewards, and encourage book donations. By promoting each other’s libraries and sharing surplus books, we can foster a love of reading and inspire more libraries in our area.

Join us in spreading the joy of reading, supporting our local libraries, and building a stronger, more connected community.

If you are a steward and want to participate in this page and other initiatives please reach out to me.

If you have books to donate let me know and we can spread them amongst our various libraries.

If you want to visit libraries let me know and I can help you find them, but I intend to share about our various libraries on this page too.

Thank you for being here!
