We continue celebrating 18 years and 18 Voices of PWN with our incredible board member .

Reflecting on our history, Dee shared: “To me, PWN has always been at the forefront of leading the HIV response here in the U.S. With any luck, we’ll continue to do so.”

Dee was the only Spanish speaker and the only woman of trans experience at the founding of PWN. This has inspired her to ensure that diversity stays at the forefront of our mission.

For 18 years, donors like you have given women like Dee the tools they need to help others. This June, help us sustain the mission. Donate what you can. Donate what 18 years of PWN means to you.

We continue celebrating our 18th Birthday Campaign by highlighting . Waheedah was diagnosed with HIV 24 years ago today, and in that time has empowered thousands of people living with HIV.

In reflecting on PWN, Waheedah told us: “I gave a lot to PWN, but what PWN gave to me is beyond anything I could dream. They gave me purpose and I understood the assignment.”

PWN poured into Waheedah at a time when she thought she was dying. She lived and transformed into Waheedah the Legend, an incredible icon of our movement. For 18 years, people like you have helped Waheedah empower the community.

This June, help us sustain the community. Donate what you can. Donate what 18 years of PWN means to you: tinyurl.com/PWN18

Transcending Barriers features Marnina Miller in a deep conversation with Michael Elizabeth, our nonbinary transgender sister-in-power (and the Co-Chair of the U.S. PLHIV Caucus) with our seronegative ally Coco Valentine about the realities of trans-existence and negotiating safety — all while living with or being exposed to HIV.

This includes addressing the fact that HIV movement spaces do not always respect transgender people or their needs. This is about more than identity; this gets to the root of power imbalances and why HIV remains a crisis even today.

Fortunately, Michael Elizabeth and Coco came to this conversation with a bag full of solutions and delicious shade.

Transcending Barriers premieres June 22nd on our YouTube Channel. Subscribe and stay tuned for more!

Frailty is a huge issue for women living with HIV! Studies in the Journal of AIDS show that chronic frailty can increase the chance of death by 250%-300%!
(Source: https://lnkd.in/gsRHmsxp — Published in May 2026)

Fortunately, frailty can be reversed through gentle exercise! You don’t have to become a gym rat. Simple and consistent movement is enough. That’s why PWN is hosting Movement & Flow this Thursday, June 10th with !

Movement & Flow is an online class that connects members to their bodies and breath through healing movements. Leah isn’t training us to run a marathon. She’s empowering our bodies to move freely and healthily.

Join us this Thursday for an hour of power, healing movement, and deep breathing. We’re excited to move and breath with you. Register at:

The Big Ugly Murder Bill (H.R.1) passed last summer and its implementation continues to unfold in ways that are destructive to our quality of life and access to care! To help you stay on top of what’s changing, we created a resource center that breaks down the updates as they happen and lays out what they mean for people living with HIV, especially Black and brown communities, immigrants, cisgender and transgender women, and gender diverse people living with HIV, who are often hit first and the hardest.

Join us on 06/10/26 at 5PM ET/4PM CT for the website launch party! We will walk through the resource center together, share what to expect as implementation dates continue to roll out, and talk about how to fight back against this big ugly bill! Register here: bit.ly/2026-PWN-VOTES

Our Birthday Campaign continues! For the first time, PWN-USA is offering a Movement & Flow class!

Do you ever find yourself feeling stiff and uncomfortable in your body. Join us online next Thursday, June 10 (6 PM EST) for an hour of breathing, gentle stretching, and releasing aches.

Movement & Flow is led by our incredible board member Leah Freeman with our director of director of communications (Juan Michael Porter II) serving as her assistant.

Sometimes, the stress of movement work gets caught up in our bodies. And the only way to release it is to breathe and move through it! So let's move together and heal. To register, go to gqr.sh/pVFK.

Participation is free, especially for our community members, though if you'd like to say thank you, we're happy to receive a suggested donation of $18.

See you next Thursday!
