📢 New publication! "The Infrastructure Equation: Water, Energy, and Community Policy for Georgia's Data Center Boom" is now live on arXiv!

This paper was a collaboration between NSPN's early career scholars, Dr. Mickey Rogers, Dr. William Ota, Nathaniel Burola, and NSPN's CEO, Dr. Tepring Piquado.

We also extend our thanks to Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally and Science for Georgia Inc for hosting the AI and Data Center event in November, which convened stakeholders to discuss the policy implications of the rapid growth of data centers in the Atlanta metro region.

This work was made possible through the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Thank you for investing in research that advances science policy and evidence-informed decision-making.

🎉 Congratulations to the 2026 California Council on Science and Technology - CCST Policy Fellows! We’re especially proud to celebrate Sarah Catherine Hawthorne, PhD, Ugbad Farah, PhD, and Natalie Gehred, PhD, alumni of NSPN’s Science Policy Scholars-in-Residence Program. Natalie also participated in our Science Diplomacy Teams Program last year. We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

🌟 We’re thrilled to introduce the 2026 class of CCST Science & Technology Policy Fellows! For 17 years now, California brings scientific savvy to policy solutions. This prestigious program places PhD-level scientists, engineers, and social scientists in California’s Legislative and Executive Branch offices.

Over the next year, these talented individuals will spend a year bridging the gap between science and policy—gaining hands-on training in public service while equipping California’s policymakers with expert, science-informed support.

Curious where they’re making an impact?
