This government shutdown didn’t have to happen. Republicans in Congress are holding up the extension of premium tax credits — and it’s people living with HIV who will pay the price.

Higher premiums mean fewer people can stay in care. Strained safety-net programs like Ryan White and ADAP. Interrupted treatment. Worsening health outcomes.

We’ve come too far in the fight against HIV to go backward.
