Our community is rallying to save our bookstores. This is a blessing - they are indeed essential.

For the past few days I have been posting a request from a community member for support for funding for her home birth and postpartum needs.

The society as a whole doesn’t value the choices and health of women - if it did - her request would be met via insurance . And so I ask on behalf of this family that you put your money where your mouth is - that you show your respect for a woman’s right to reproductive choice - by contributing to this maternity fund.

Pl give what you can - plz share this request - plz give in whatever format works for you (read request).

I know times are so hard for us all. And your help is needed - I thank you in advance.

Implicit bias is dangerous and deeply harmful to black people. If you truly are an ally - a compassion comrade seeking equity and evolved thought - or a POC - then please stop using the words "black" and "dark" negatively. This includes other Black people - we are taught the same bias. Also, EVERYONE - please take the implicit test: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html

Its such a great test for everyone to take - it's like taking your temperature if you know that you have been exposed to the flu. It gives you a heads up - so that you know what harmful learned bias you need to unlearn and heal from. - Kin Folkz
