CARA members are coming together to organize, meet with legislators and make sure seniors are heard on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, affordable healthcare and retirement security.

Dan Prince spent decades organizing as an ironworker in San Francisco, eventually leading Iron Workers Local 377 as president for sixteen years. When he retired in 2015, colleagues he'd met at Sacramento legislative conferences told him one thing: join CARA.

He did — and he went on to represent his district council on CARA's board, working closely with founding executive director Jodi Reid. "Almost everybody, without exception, could feel her passion for the movement, for the people CARA represented," Dan says. "That is a very unique quality. It's a gift."
