Today we honor Yolanda Burrell, farmer, educator, beekeeper, and founder of Pollinate Farm situated on the ancestral land of the Ohlone people. Her leadership has shaped a generation of growers, homesteaders, and land stewards across the Bay Area.
Yolanda cultivates seasonal fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, and plants for natural dyes on her urban farm. But her vision of agriculture doesn't stop at the farm gate. Burrell is deeply committed to growing sustainable, ecologically rooted food and teaching communities how to cultivate abundance in ways that honor the land. Her work champions soil health, pollinator protection, and regenerative practices that strengthen local food systems from the ground up. She has also plays a vital role in connecting local chefs and restaurants with high‑quality, locally grown produce, ensuring that fresh, culturally relevant ingredients reach community tables.
