Time: Doors open at 11:30 AM | Movie starts promptly at 12:00 PM

Where: Cinemark San Leandro (Free onsite parking + easy BART access!)

If you don’t know , let me introduce you. At 89 years old, she walked 2.5 miles at a time to demand that become a federal holiday. The distance represented the 2.5 years it took for news of emancipation to reach enslaved people in Texas after the Civil War ended. She did this every Juneteenth for years until Congress finally listened. In 2021, Juneteenth became a federal holiday, when she was 94. In 2024, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She is now 99 years old and still walking, and honored her dedication with her own !

Earlier this month I visited in --I've been seeing their toy boxes for the last few years and at a conference the owner was sitting right in front of me! We bonded over all things inclusive play and I stopped by to see what they are building: a home for all kids to feel welcomed as they play and learn. If you're in town stop in or shop online.
