Meet Local 67’s 2026 interns, Ashley Bran and Ruby Giron-Carson! We are partnering again with UC Berkeley LOHP for the Occupational Health Internship Program with the help of Stella Beckman, PhD, MPH epidemiologist (CDPH), David Harrington, MPH (retired CDPH and Cal/OSHA), LHSFNA Executive Director, Lisa Sabitoni, and Director of Health Promotion Fund, Jamie Becker 🤝 This summer we will be focusing on Mental Health in the Construction Industry, where the interns will be conducting surveys with Local 67 members to assess the needs and understanding around mental health as well as spread awareness of the resources that are offered by the union and employers. We look forward to a great project!

Today, we had the privilege of attending Worksafe’s event in recognizing Dave Thomas for his tireless dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to protecting the health and safety of California’s workers.

Dave’s efforts have made a lasting impact on countless working men and women across our state, helping ensure that every worker returns home safely at the end of the day. His passion for worker advocacy and safety continues to set the standard for all of us.

Thank you, Dave, for your years of service and for being a true champion for California’s workforce.

Another successful Laborers’ riding event in the books. Local 67 members and their families came together at Angel Island to give back and work alongside park rangers to help clean and preserve the park. Proud to be part of a brotherhood that shows up for the community both on and off the job. Solidarity, service, and a great day with great people.

Local 67 was honored to join all of those who came together this week in support of the “Clean Streets and Fair Pay Act” proposal. This will ensure better wages and prioritize the trained workforce represented by members to safely clean the streets of San Francisco.

In the spirits leading up to Thanksgiving, Local 67 would like to acknowledge the efforts of our brothers and sisters that helped us on a Saturday at the Alameda County Community Food Bank to help organize healthy foods to distribute to communities that are facing food insecurity. With a country that prides itself on having so much wealth, it is unfortunate that many people are still in poverty, going hungry. As members of our communities, we must continue to step up and do our part to help each other succeed 🙌🤝

Local 67 would like to recognize our brother Cruz Lopez. Cruz Lopez has been a member of LiUNA Local 67 since 1996 and has worked for Performance Abatement Services for 28 years. Cruz Lopez is most recognized for his excellence in performing shrink wrapping and his leadership amongst his Union brothers and sisters.

We had a very successful job fair a few weeks ago in West Oakland, thank you Alex E. Francois from B.U.I.L.D (Bringing Underemployed Individuals to Local Developers) for the invite. It was great to see our union brothers and sisters in presence as well as Padraic Ryan from We had several individuals interested in joining and held an orientation meeting to educate them about LiUNA and our wages/benefits. Thank you to Padraic and Joyce from for taking the time to also speak and motivate the potential union members! As a community and team we can accomplish so much 🔥✊
