Oakland Chinatown Salvation Army Community Center TSA Oakland Chinatown Branch Salvation Army is a Christian based organization. Oakland Chinatown Corp is a organization/church located in Oakland, California.

It was founded in 1865 in the United Kingdom by William Booth and his wife Catherine. William preached to the poor, and Catherine spoke to the wealthy, gaining financial support for their work. Together they started their own church to help the poor and alcoholics/drug addicts. Today, Salvation Army operates in 124 countries and provides services in 175 different languages. Activities include: Sunday Service, fellowship, Sunday School, Music program, After-school tutoring program, Summer Day Camp, vocational training, Counseling Service, Senior College, Recreational Center, and Seasonal Food distribution etc.

Hello everyone! 👋

The Salvation Army Oakland Chinatown Corps & Community Center will start a Happy Table Tennis Time on September 17! Whether you are an experienced player or just want to have some fun and exercise, everyone is welcome to join us! 🏓

📍 Event Details

Time: Every Thursday, 10:00–11:30 AM

Dates: September 17–December 10
No session on November 26 (Thanksgiving)

Location: 379 12th St, Oakland, CA 94607

Fee: $2 per person, per session (cash only; includes facility cleaning and activity supplies)

Capacity: 16 participants per session, first come, first served

⚠️ Reminder

Participants may bring their own paddles and personal items if needed. Please wear comfortable athletic shoes.

Check-in and payment will be collected on-site. We look forward to seeing you!

Would you like to make a difference in a student's life?

The Salvation Army Oakland Chinatown Corps is looking for volunteer tutors to provide free online 1-on-1 tutoring for students from low-income families.

📚 Subjects:
• English & Math (Grades 2–10)
• English Writing (Grades 2–7)

📅 August 31 – November 20
🕟 Monday–Friday, 4:30–6:00 PM (PDT)

🏆 Eligible volunteers may receive The Salvation Army Volunteer Service Award and National Service Honor (NSH) recognition.

High school students (Grade 9+), college students, and adults are welcome to apply.

On Mother’s Day, Major E shared a message from 1 Thessalonians 2:7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.“

We also prepared lunch for nearly 200 people as students, families, teachers, staff, and volunteers came together to celebrate and honor nearly 60 mothers. Thank you to all the mothers for your love and dedication ❤️

母亲节当天，Major E 以《帖撒罗尼迦前书》2:7“只在你们中间存心温柔，如同母亲乳养自己的孩子”为主题分享信息。

当天我们也预备了近200人的丰盛午餐，与学生及家人、老师、员工和义工们一同欢庆母亲节，并向近60位母亲送上祝福。感谢每一位母亲一直以来的爱与付出，让这个特别的日子充满温馨与感恩 ❤️
