“Listen and you’ll hear us say, it’s time to Make Polluters Pay!” 📢
This past Sunday, August 2, we gathered with our San Jose community at the final Polluters Pay Town Hall in a statewide series of events for a powerful day of voices, discussion, and action to . Impassioned speakers and panelists talked about why a California Polluters Pay Climate Superfund is critical to our communities and future. Through action tables where people could write letters to their state representatives, and local climate orgs there to share info and to get involved, our community’s enthusiasm for this fight was only heightened by the sweltering heat - it was a stark reminder of how crucial a bill like this is to address record breaking heat and climate disasters happening everywhere.💥
Thank you to the excellent panelists, led by Isabel Penman from Food & Water Action (FWA) California , health professional Dr. Laurie Lalakea, SJ City Councilmember David Cohen, youth activists Liam Hroziencik with 350BayArea , and Mani Bekele from Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA) . And thank you to keynote speaker, State Asm. Ash Kalra!
Take action now by signing on a letter to tell our state reps why we need a Make Polluters Pay bill, in our 350baaction bio! 📝
