Now, Chabot is developing the next generation of engineers, astronomers, data scientists, educators, researchers, and more STEM professionals. Galaxy Explorers gain hands-on experience with real workplace problems and work in Teams to solve them. With flexible scheduling, GEs come to Chabot year-round to open themselves up for a world of new possibilities.

The California STEM Network celebrates the premier of science on the California School Dashboard. For nearly a decade, schools and districts have not been held accountable for student achievement in science. With the release of the 2024 Dashboard, California is sending a strong signal to schools that science is a critical component of a child’s 21st-century education. The lack of accountability for science since the state launched the Dashboard in 2017 has allowed districts to neglect investment in this core subject leading to today’s Dashboard to reveal schools are only sufficiently supporting 1 in 14 Dashboard-reported student groups to meet or exceed Dashboard standards in science. Equally distressing is the lack of support for students in math, with only 2 in 14 student groups meeting or exceeding Dashboard standards in math. This is why members of the California STEM Network across the state stand at the ready to support schools and districts to increase and improve equitable STEM teaching and learning.

Please complete this survey and share it with your teachers and districts with whom you work. There is a significant lack of tangible data about how much or little science education was offered when physical schools were closed, or what attention it is receiving now that kids are largely back in person.

The survey should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.

Your feedback is important, and your response will help us document how schools navigated these extraordinary circumstances and provide policy recommendations.

If you have already completed the survey, please disregard this message.

We appreciate your participation. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Niu Gao, Senior Fellow at PPIC at 415-291-4491 or [email protected].
