🎓☀️ Congratulations to our IBT 200 graduates! ☀️🎓

On September 25, 2026, we celebrated a milestone: the graduation of our IBT 200 trainees! Through hands-on learning, early mornings, and a lot of hard work, these graduates have built real skills in solar installation and are ready to power the clean energy workforce.

To our trainees: thank you for your commitment to this program. Your dedication, curiosity, and determination inspire all of us at GRID Alternatives. We can't wait to see where your new skills take you.

Antonette Robinson used to describe herself as “the girliest girl”- someone who never pictured herself on a roof. But when a local employment program introduced her to GRID Alternatives, she decided the only way to know if it could work was to try.

And it did.

Antonette moved through our IBT-200 training and into the SolarCorps fellowship, building real community along the way, and rediscovering a version of herself she’d lost touch with as a new mom.

Now her daughters watch her go to work every day, as she continues setting goals that'll help her thrive in her new clean energy career. ☀️

Years ago, Alex Honnold joined one of our solar installations as a volunteer, and the experience stayed with him, inspiring him to start his own foundation, The Honnold Foundation, dedicated to supporting organizations and projects that expand access to solar energy.

✂️ Cutting the ribbon on new pathways to opportunity! ☀️

GRID Alternatives was honored to help celebrate the launch of the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator Solar Training Program at Goodwill's Clean Tech Accelerator Lab in Aurora - a new partnership bringing hands-on solar installation training to Colorado's growing clean-energy workforce.

This program gives participants practical, real-world experience to prepare for careers in clean energy, and it's open to any adult 18 and older!

We believe economic development is about more than creating jobs - it's about connecting people in our communities to the education, skills, and training that lead to well-paying jobs, sustainable careers, and economic security.

There's no expiration date on your dreams! Programs like this give people options, whether you're starting your first career, switching fields, or learning something new later in life. 💫

Congratulations to Goodwill of Colorado, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the program participants, and all the partners investing in Colorado's workforce. We're proud to see this investment take root!

Leonard Hampton came to GRID Alternatives looking for more than just a new career path - he was searching for a new direction.

Traditional trade programs hadn't quite fit, but GRID offered something different: hands-on experience, exceptional training, and a supportive community that believed in his potential. His journey led him to the AmeriCorps SolarCorps Fellowship Program, where he gained skills, confidence, a stronger sense of purpose, and a new outlook on his future. ✨

Now, Leonard is paying it forward as a Workforce Development Assistant Trainer, guiding the next group of trainees in solar installation, electrical wiring, and safety - the same opportunities he once received. “My favorite part of my role is making a positive impact on trainees,” he shares. “They’re given a chance that I was given.”

That’s what we call the SolarCorps ripple effect! ☀️
