Kingmakers had the exciting opportunity to join the San Francisco 49ers at training camp for their Nonprofit Day last Monday! 🏈

Our TFI and Sankofa Kings got to watch the 49ers practice, meet members of the team, take pictures with players and the 49ers mascot, and enjoy a meal together as a group.

A special thank you to Madison Vick and the 49ers Community Relations team for inviting us and creating this opportunity for our Kings.

We appreciate the chance to give our Kings an experience they’ll never forget. 🙌🏾 They had a great time!

This Saturday, we hosted our Black to School event at KOO Labs, and it was truly a day to remember! 📚

Over 100 community members, partners, parents, and kids packed out our block to kick off the school year and make sure our youth had the resources they needed to start the year on a powerful note. ✊🏾

Thank you to everyone who came through and filled KOO Labs with so much love and good energy! Our community connected with school-year resources, toured our state-of-the-art creative facilities, and joined free, interactive workshops.

The best part? Every young person left having learned a new creative skill and seeing their smiles made it all worth it.

We’re looking for someone who is ready to be a mentor, educator, role model, and champion for Black boys—and who believes deeply in their brilliance, and potential.

We're incredibly grateful to NBC Bay Area for featuring our inaugural Sankofa Kings Fellowship and helping share the vision behind this groundbreaking program. ✊🏾

We're also deeply honored that Attorney Ben Crump, who represents the family of King Nolan Wells in their pursuit of justice, took the time to uplift the work we're doing at Kingmakers of Oakland.🤲🏾

Every Black boy deserves the opportunity to grow into adulthood and pursue his passions. Building a future where that is possible means investing in our youth today while continuing to advocate for justice, safety, and equity in our communities.🤲🏾

Thank you to Velena Jones for producing such a thoughtful segment and highlighting how Sankofa Kings is creating space for Black boys and young men to lead, innovate, and shape the future of AI through community-centered solutions.👑
