East Bay Creative Lab is hosting an amazing art show. We collaborated with various OUSD High Schools. Wandering Stars: Youth Artists’ Portrait Show is a celebration of beauty, selfhood, and identity. These OUSD artists don't wait to be seen. They make themselves visible.

The exhibition runs from April 25th through May 22nd.

Jump into the exciting and colorful world of printmaking! Students will dive into a variety of exciting printmaking techniques, including relief printing, stamp making, monotypes, Gelli plate printing, collagraphs, and much more. They’ll have the opportunity to design unique patterns, explore bold textures, and experiment with an array of materials to bring their artwork to life. Using a mix of recycled, found, natural, and traditional materials, students will discover endless possibilities for creating truly unique prints that showcase their creativity and individuality.

Saturday, March 14 10am -12pm

Come visit us for our monthly open studio! Turn cardboard, paper scraps, and recycled treasures into bold, beautiful birds. Students will start by learning a little about real birds — their shapes, beaks, wings, and feather patterns — then use that inspiration to invent their own species or recreate a favorite local bird. We’ll paint cardboard backgrounds, cut and layer shapes, experiment with texture, and assemble everything into vibrant collage artworks.

Perfect for kids who love animals, building things, cutting, painting, and getting a little messy!

Create and publish your own story! Tell your own tale! In this class, we will explore the world of visual storytelling. Artists will be introduced to basic concepts of cartooning, inking, storyboards, and more. They will also learn the cultural and social history of Zines and comics, using artists and collectives like Riot Grrrl, Lynda Barry, Kate Bingaman Burt, and others. Artists will share their work with their peers and the larger community.
