NINS is popping up at the Angel Island Immigration Station for their Second Saturdays event series!

Our month-long special exhibits feature the stories of Chef Anthony Salguero of (.oakland_restaurant), the team, Maria Marquez of , and Sam & Wenter of . Their journeys, their roots, their craft — on an island that knows something about all three.

IT’S HERE. 🫖✨

The drop we’ve been teasing is officially LIVE — introducing the NINS x Oaklandish Limited Edition Tea Towel.

Last time we had these, they sold out in 2 hours. No, really.
This is the perfect gift for the spice lover, the kitchen obsessive, the friend who has everything — and it’s beautiful enough to frame or hang. Made in partnership with our friends at , it’s small but mighty (just like us 🌶️).

Every tea towel sold goes directly toward our Merch for Minnesota campaign, supporting the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund () — which pays ICE bonds to reunite families. And here’s the magic: when a case closes, the money comes back and frees another person. Your one purchase keeps giving.

We’re at $1,000 raised and gunning for $2,000 by end of month. This drop could get us there. 👊🏽

Link in bio to grab yours — before they’re gone. Again.

$1,000 DOWN. $1,000 TO GO! 🚀

Thanks to you, our Merch for Minnesota campaign has officially raised over $1,000! (Shoutout to , where we’ve sold 119 pins alone! 🌶️).

We want to double that and hit $2,000 by the end of the month.

Every single purchase supports the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund (). They pay ICE bonds to reunite families, and when cases are complete, the money is returned and recycled to free another individual - which means your support helps free people over and over again.

HOW TO GET YOUR GEAR & SUPPORT:

📱 Link in bio for the full collection (including exclusive aprons!)
📍 for NINS tees & hoodies
📍 for lapel pins

PS! We have a super exclusive drop coming THIS FRIDAY ‼️ Last time we had this item it sold out in 2 hours!

Hint: it’s something small enough to fit in a backpack, is the perfect gift and can be framed or hung ;)

Repping NINS is a commitment to keeping our communities safe. Let’s hit this goal together! ✊🏽

Last year you asked us what your ticket to BBQ Without Borders actually does. Here’s the answer. 🌶️

$26,500 raised → 106 undocumented neighbors in East Oakland → $250 each to spend however they needed most. Groceries. Rent. Utilities. Dignity.

We’re proud to do this work alongside , who has been rooted in Fruitvale for 60+ years, providing wraparound support — from jobs and housing to early childhood education — for Oakland’s immigrant and Latino communities. They partnered with us to deliver these Resilience Fund microgrants directly to the community! Make sure you’re following them and checking out everything they do.

The fight continues. Check out our campaign — 100% of proceeds from aprons, tees, stickers, lapel pins and more go directly to bonding immigrants out of detention and safely home through the Midwest Bond Fund . Shop via the link in our bio or in person at and .

Keep your eyes on us — we have some exciting drops and events to announce in the coming weeks. 👀

In 2018, witnessing the demonization and dehumanization of immigrants become mainstream left Dr. Vibha Gupta flailing with anger and rage. She knew she had to do something about it, but she didn’t have the outlet—until she realized that food could be the ultimate bridge.

Today, as anti-immigrant rhetoric intensifies across the U.S., our mission is more urgent than ever. NINS isn’t just about recipes; we use the dinner table to reclaim the humanity that policy tries to strip away.

When the narrative gets toxic, we don’t just sit out—we build a bigger table, we invite community, and we have important conversations. 🥘✨

In a powerful new interview with Mending the Melting Pot (), Vibha shares how she turned that rage into a community hub. What began as a simple statement on a shirt has grown into a powerful force for change.

🌶️ MINNESOTA: WE STAND WITH YOU! 🌶️

In the face of the ongoing ICE occupations and the heightened surveillance targeting our neighbors, we refuse to stay silent. Our community is built on the contributions, cultures, and culinary brilliance of immigrants—and right now, that community needs our collective strength.

So we’re turning our mission into direct action. ✊🏽
Starting now through the end of March, 100% of proceeds from our merch collection will be donated to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund ( )

This fund is a critical lifeline, paying bonds to get people out of detention and back home with their families where they belong. When their cases are complete the funds are replenished back to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund to release another individual from incarceration. By recycling returned bond money, it provides a sustainable, long-term solution to free individuals from ICE custody, reuniting families and enabling access to legal counsel for their cases.
HOW TO SUPPORT:

Online: Shop the collection at the link in our bio. (The only place to get our aprons!)
In-Store: Visit our partners at and to grab your gear in person. (Oaklandish carries NINS Ts and hoodies, and Oaktown Spice carries our pins.)

Wearing NINS isn’t just a look, it’s a walking statement of solidarity and a commitment to keeping our communities safe!
