Reground is the culminating event organized and facilitated by Wellness In Action - WIA grantees who have successfully completed our embodied mental health training. Each one of them brought light and life to the program, deepening and honing their skills through hands-on experience, where they facilitated wellness activities and networking for mental health providers, community workers, and community members who identify as belonging or supporters of the BIPOC, refugee and immigrant communities.
Held at Clinton Park in Oakland, Reground is a space where the grantees share their talents and give back to the community, embodying the lessons and wisdom they have gained through the training.
This year the event featured a somatic dance activity, art activity, honey + other bee products and herbs activity where participants learned how to create medicine, indigenous traditional dance from the Philippines, traditional games from Ethiopia, connection and remembrance through food from different cultures, music, dance performances and delicious food.

A day filled with nourishing activities where participants could meet new people from different cultures, learn new things, celebrate and build a welcoming and unified environment together.
We are so proud of our grantees and the amazing community that is around us!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the event and made this day a special one to remember!

Had a wonderful day spent by the river with good friends, families, great conversations, lots of laughter, and time to relax in nature. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special. These moments of connection, support, and community are what make our groups so meaningful.

Looking forward to many more adventures together! β€οΈβ˜€οΈπŸžοΈ

CERI’s elders enjoyed picking fresh sweet blueberries at LoCa Blueberry Farm in Lodi! It was 95 degrees but they stayed hydrated and motivated by this annual activity! We picnicked at Angel Cruz Park in the afternoon, enjoying delicious food, company and the joy of camaraderie and community! Thank you East Bay Foundation on Aging for outings like this that bring our elders together!
