“Red Wolf” by Laura Ball is featured in our NRDC exhibit for . https://www.artworksforchange.org/portfolio/nrdc-featured-tour/ Ball shows us that nature’s interconnected whole is more valuable than the sum of its parts—and reminds us of the beauty we stand to lose. Red wolves were driven close to extinction by aggressive predator control programs and loss of habitat. Thankfully, NRDC works to protect endangered species like the red wolf by partnering with ranchers, farmers, energy companies, and the government to push solutions that help wild animals coexist with livestock and people. How can we connect the small choices we make in our daily lives to the far-reaching impacts of climate change? In his “Learning to See: Gloomy Sunday” project, artist Memo Akten uses machine learning to teach a computer how to visualize such connections, perhaps emulating the process that humanity is undergoing as we work to understand the causes and consequences of climate change. https://vimeo.com/260612034
