September is not only the Season of Creation, it is also Transit Month! What better way to celebrate and care for our shared planet than by choosing public transit?

This September, we invite you to explore how transportation shapes the air we breathe, the pollution in our communities, and our climate. From riding the bus or train to learning about transportation justice, there are many ways to connect our faith and our commitment to a cleaner, healthier world.

Transit Month is almost here! Help us kick off our month-long celebration of transit at our Transit Month Kickoff Rally on Tuesday, September 1st at 10 am. Join us at the San Francisco City Hall steps to hear from our transit leaders and advocates about the importance of this very special month!

Warm greetings to our Muslim neighbors and friends as you celebrate Mawlid al-Nabi, the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family.

May this sacred occasion be a time of remembrance, joy, generosity, and renewed commitment to compassion and justice. May the Prophet’s example inspire us to care for our neighbors, defend the dignity of every person, and build communities rooted in mercy and peace.

From our interfaith community, we extend our blessings and compassion. Mawlid Mubarak!

We are profoundly grateful for your presence and participation. Across traditions, we gathered in hope, courage, and shared purpose—praying together, building new relationships, learning from one another, and deepening our ability to respond to this moment with compassion and collective action.

We left the summit inspired by the wisdom shared by our faith leaders, who grounded us in tradition, the thoughtful dialogue with elected officials, and the commitment to continuing this work together. Thank you for helping make the day truly meaningful!

Now, we begin the work of carrying the momentum forward. We truly hope you’ll join us!!

California’s climate policies are facing a major challenge from the Trump administration. The New York Times looks at what’s happening in California, what is at stake for the state’s climate goals, and what this could mean for the future of climate action.

At least a half-dozen federal agencies have taken action against the state that has led the nation in environmental protections.

Today is a big day in Sacramento. Many of the bills we have worked on, spoken up for, and brought before our legislators are reaching critical votes (with the final voting deadline being Aug. 31).

For months, people of faith across California have raised their voices for clean air, climate justice, and a healthier future.

We know change takes more than a single vote, but we also know that democracy works best when elected leaders hear from the people they represent. We are grateful to everyone who has called, written, testified, met with legislators, and organized alongside us.

Now we wait, we watch, and we hope our elected leaders will act with courage and follow the lead of the communities who have been calling for a more just and sustainable California.

This is what faith in action looks like. 🌎✊

“Creation cries out in suffering. We acknowledge the urgent call to action, and we acknowledge that we can only respond to it on the basis of faith. The Season of Creation is a source of strength and communion, encouraging us truly ‘to hope and act with creation.’” - Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt, Lutheran World Federation General Secretary

Being a resilient community is so much more than solar and battery back up, it’s year round mutual aid, community building, and meeting each others needs for all to flourish. We are grateful to be in this holy work with congregations like St. Mark in East Palo Alto.

Thanking God for the opportunity to prepare Salisbury Steak with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, curry chicken and rice with butter corn and green beans to our neighbors at WeHope.
