every month at soul shoppe we host a "virtual playground". born out of the pandemic, we wanted to give students creative and fun ways to "empty their balloon" in helpful ways.
yesterday we wrapped up the last virtual playground of this school year. through art and creativity we had the students (300 of them zooming in from their classrooms!), share about what they learned about themselves through the year based on our "you're amazing vision".
here are a few of their shares:
-i am smart because i learned how to ride a bike
-i am smart when i share my feelings and don't keep them in
-i am powerful because i practiced being brave
-i am powerful when i can speak up in class
-i have what it takes to overcome my fears
-i have what it takes to make new friends
-i am important - i am someone who deserves kindness
-i help to make my home be fun and happy by helping my sister
-i helped our class be more fun by listening
year after year i'm blown away by what we get to create in elementary schools in the bay area and beyond!!
i'm grateful for the 52 schools we served this year, the districts and counties that brought us in, and the tens of thousands of students, educators and families that have been touched by our work.
