OAKLAND! We’re bringing you a brand new workshop, POWER SURGE

WHAT IS POWER SURGE?*
* POWER SURGE is our new Woodworking series at Frailty Myths. This workshop  towards liberation is for people who are experiencing menopause in any of its stages and beyond. While learning power tools and basic woodworking, we will talk about confronting myths of menopause, the wisdom of our years, and the complexities of our relationship to our bodies and selves during this time.
* It’s called “Power Surge!” -  because we had an elder friend who called hot flashes “power surges” (which is how it feels actually) so it’s a reframing of hot flashes and ties into Power Tools…. cute huh?
* ✨Embodying our wisdom and lived experiences and embracing becoming an elder, and “the crone” phase of life. “Grandmother status” “wise woman” - witches. Why is there no ritual or ceremony for this transition in our society? Where are there rituals that do celebrate it?✨

Join us in Oakland, CA on December 14, 2024!

You will build community, learn woodworking in a supportive space, and leave with your own woodworking project.

Same FM vibes as always: 
* FM community workshops are open to all community members EXCEPT those that identify as cisgender men. 
* FM community workshops are application based- this is done to ensure we are serving marginalized communities and getting these important skills into the hands of historically marginalized communities 
* FM community workshops are FREE with a recommendation donation amount from those that can make a financial contribution. Making a financial contribution is not required to attend. 
* All workshops are done in outdoor settings with masks and COVID 19 tests available for participants. We encourage all participants who are sick prior to the workshop to not attend.
