"Even as the event has grown, it’s still maintained its uniquely Bay Area, alternative ethos. At Oaklash, the art can be beautiful, political and just plain stupid (in the good way) all at once." - SF Chronicle

The annual block party will be headlined by Aja and King Molasses.

"We’re partying just like we ever were. Celebrations like Oaklash have been how our community perseveres for decades. Nightlife is where we grieve and flirt and rage at the machine, same as it always has been." - Mama Celeste in the Bay Area Reporter

On May 16, East Bay drag superstar Mama Celeste and her associates will present the latest edition of Oaklash, Oakland’s wild and wooly festival of drag performance, now in its ninth year.
