Oakland Freedom Jazz Society is a Monday night weekly, live music showcase, featuring improvisors, experimenters, composers based in and exploring New Music, Avantgarde Jazz, Experimental Noise and beyond. We feature many local and up-&-coming musicians, as well as seasoned veterans and national/international performers. Our series is oftentimes utilized as a musical laboratory, so you will always experience something new, different, challenging and interesting!

We're back! One night only.........so far.

Tuesday December 27th, 8pm at Tom's Place (3111 Deakin Street in Berkeley)!

Kevin Murray, drums, Tim Duff, Double Bass, Joshua Allen, Tenor Sax. One seventy minute set

Kevin is returning home for the first time since graduating from, The New School. He requested to play with Josh and Tim. It's simple. One set. All donations go to the performers. Due to any perceived conflict of interest, this night the money will go to Kevin, hopefully slightly off setting the cost of a round trip ticket to New York.

Sorry for the concert postponement. A few people did show up for the concert. I ended up playing a 45 minute solo set for them. Gotta give the people something. Get back to everyone soon on the next concert date.

Just reminding everyone we have a concert March 27th, this Sunday at 3pm, at 6440 San Pablo in Oakland 4 sets of Improvised New Music. It's an outdoor event.
