Family Paths, Inc.

Family Paths is a welcoming and inclusive agency dedicated to strengthening family relationships by providing mental health and supportive services with respect, integrity, compassion, and hope. It is important to us that every client feels welcome and safe, and that they receive treatment in a non-judgmental fashion. We are a caring service agency that is willing to go the extra mile to support e

ach other and our clients. We acknowledge that our clients come to us with many strengths and we begin work where they are in order to reach their desired goals. We know there is more than one path to reach a goal and we are here to support that journey. We define a “parent” as anyone who emotionally and physically protects and is raising a child, regardless of biological ties. We know that each parent who seeks support from Family Paths is affected by their socio-economic context, and we value diversity in family structure. We are committed to serving all families, including traditional and non-traditional. This includes families that are multiracial, foster families, LGBTQIA families, single parents, and kinship caregivers. We acknowledge that many of today’s families look different from traditional family structures and we recognize the particular needs and strengths of all families. (formerly Parental Stress Service) is a non-profit organization of mental health professionals and dedicated volunteers that provide a number of mental health, counseling and therapy services to low income, multi-stressed individuals and families. We are a multicultural agency committed to serving families of Alameda County regardless of age, ethnicity/race, financial status, language, sexual orientation, immigration status, class, religion, gender, mental or physical ability. We have served the mental health needs of Children and Families since 1972, and today we offer services from offices in Oakland, Hayward. These services include a 24-hour Parenting Stress Helpline, a 24-hour Foster Parent Advice Line, CalWORKs Case Management, and Positive Parenting and Fatherhood Classes. We also provide counseling for infants, children, adolescents, adults and families.

Today we bid a fond farewell to Nancy Morosohk, who is retiring after 25 years at Family Paths. Nancy led our Treatment, Intervention and Prevention clinical team, helped create and manage our award-winning Finding Peace Within group for teaching women how to live more peacefully with their trauma symptoms, and spear-headed our clinical internship program that for 20 years has helped launch the next generations of mental health clinicians. Nancy Morosohk, thank you for your compassion, commitment and care. We will miss you so much! ❤️
