Gear helps make getting outside possible.🏕️

For the third year in a row, Katherine and her team are bringing young campers into nature, with gear from the BAWT Gear Library helping make it happen.

By lending gear to youth-serving organizations, we’re breaking down barriers to outdoor access and helping more young people experience the benefits of time in nature.

Ready to build the skills and confidence to lead youth on multi-day backpacking adventures? WLT-3 Day is BAWT’s new entry-level backpacking course covering gear, navigation, risk management, group dynamics, and backcountry leadership, with no previous experience required.

Six awesome volunteers came together for a very productive evening at Gear Corps, including 2 high school students doing service learning and one volunteer returning to BAWT after 15 YEARS!!

Together, they:
⛺ Assembled new Kitchen Kits bins
📸 Inventoried all the tents
🛠️ Quality-checked tent poles, headlamps, and sleeping bags
🏷️ Tackled the beginning stages of special itemized tags for each of our tent models
🍕 Ate pizza!

So grateful for this sweet, hardworking crew and all the care they put into keeping BAWT gear ready to go!

We're hosting a special weekday evening Gear Corps next week - Tuesday, September 1st from 4–7pm!

Fall is just around the corner, which means another busy season of getting young people outside! Help us get the Gear Library ready by cleaning, repairing, sorting, and organizing gear, and making sure everything is in good working order for the adventures ahead.

No experience needed! Just bring a willingness to help and good vibes.

Free dinner will be served. Just be sure to RSVP at bawt.org/get-involved.

Rounding out summer, kicking off fall, and celebrating the BAWT community. 🌲

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our 2nd Annual BAWT BQ! It was so good to see BAWT friends old and new, share good food and good vibes, and celebrate another year of getting young people outside.

We’re grateful for this community and all the ways you show up for BAWT. Here’s to the adventures ahead!
