Tomorrow. It's here. πŸŽ‰

The 2nd Annual Juneteenth Business Jubilee goes live β€” and the centerpiece is a conversation you'll want a seat for.

The panel: How business becomes a catalyst for economic opportunity and stronger communities.

The voices at the table:

β€’ Vanita Lee Tatum, Amalgamated Bank

β€’ Chris Horton, Small Business Administration (SBA)

β€’ Anita Russell, Working Solutions CDFI

β€’ Will Jackson, US Bank

β€’ Moderator: Donna Ruff, WRMSDC

Real talk, real strategy, real people who've done it. The kind of conversation you leave with something from.

And it's official: tomorrow kicks off the scholarship fundraiser. Every dollar raised goes straight into the community β€” development programming and COMTO NorCal scholarships. Showing up is giving back.

Doors at 10 AM. 260 Townsend Street, San Francisco.

WRMSDC is pleased to share an upcoming webinar opportunity with our network and encourage you to consider participating and sharing broadly.

As part of a national Public Policy Webinar Series, this session offers an opportunity for MBEs to hear directly from a federal policymaker and gain insights into issues currently impacting minority-owned businesses.

This installment features a fireside chat with a Member of Congress, focused on the evolving economic and policy landscape and what it means for business growth, access, and competitiveness.

We recognize the importance of staying informed and engaged on policies that affect our business community. Opportunities like this can help business leaders better understand the environment in which they operate and advocate for their businesses.

Why consider attending or sharing:

-Stay informed on policy developments affecting minority-owned businesses
-Gain perspective on economic and business trends at the national level
-Participate in a broader dialogue relevant to your business and community

We encourage you to share this opportunity with your network and attend if your schedule allows.

Some organizations talk about investing in the future. This one has built its entire model around it.

Meet 100 Black Men of the Bay Area.

Their work stands on four pillars:

🀝 Mentoring β€” serving as role models and mentors for youth.
πŸ“š Education β€” providing scholarship assistance that opens doors.
πŸ“ˆ Economic Empowerment β€” driving economic development in the community.
❀️ Health & Wellness β€” promoting wellness and non-violence.

It's a simple idea with deep roots: when you pour into people early and consistently, you change what's possible for them β€” and for everyone who comes after.

That mission is exactly why they belong at this table. The Jubilee is about economic opportunity that lasts, and lasting opportunity is built the same way 100 Black Men builds it β€” one relationship, one mentee, one open door at a time. Their presence connects the businesses in the room to a longer story: the next generation of leaders already being shaped.

This is what the series is for. Not one moment β€” momentum.

The part of June 25 small businesses are going to want to hear about: we're building in 30 minutes of Opportunity Sharing.

Primes, GCs, and public agency partners sharing what they're bidding next. The kind of intel you can't Google.

Every meaningful event has a foundation underneath it. Ours has two.

The WRMSDC Board of Directors β€” a group of leaders who give their time and credibility to this work, quietly and consistently.

And the WRMSDC team β€” the staff and event partners who carried the 2026 Annual Business Summit & Awards Luncheon from concept to a packed room at Oakstop on May 21. The work most attendees never see, but feel in every detail of the day.

Thank you to both groups for the foundation you provide. The network is stronger because of you.

Every great gathering needs a house to hold it. This year, ours is Swinerton's β€” and that means something.

Meet BCBRG, the Black Community Business Resource Group at Swinerton.

Swinerton's Business Resource Groups are employee-led and built from the ground up β€” spaces of connection, support, and professional development, formed organically and driven by the people in them. BCBRG carries that purpose into the wider community: opening doors, making room, and bringing the builder's world to the same table as the businesses growing alongside it.

That's what hosting really means. Not just providing a space β€” extending one. Saying come in, there's a seat for you here.

When a company opens its doors to a community, it's making a statement about what it values. We're grateful BCBRG made that statement with us.

SBIC β€” the Small Business Input Committee β€” is what it looks like when a network organizes itself.

A group of certified business owners who advocate for their peers, strengthen connections within the small business community, and work alongside WRMSDC to build a marketplace where these businesses can grow.

They were on stage at the 2026 Annual Business Summit & Awards Luncheon. They were at the tables. They were in the conversations. And they keep showing up long after the event ends β€” because that's the work.

Thank you to every SBIC member β€” and the businesses you represent. The network is what it is because of you.
