At this school in Chegutu, a new solar-powered borehole now provides clean water — funded through donations to the Herz HD Foundation, the German partner organization of .
For the first time, children no longer have to walk kilometers to fetch water. Gardens are growing, parents are taking responsibility, and school life is thriving.

What seems ordinary to us means everything here: health, education, and hope for the future.

Richard Witikani (b. 1967, Wedza, Zimbabwe) is one of Zimbabwe’s most respected contemporary painters.
Trained at the historic BAT Workshop in Harare, he taught art before devoting himself entirely to painting.

His landscapes capture the rhythm of Zimbabwe’s land — fields, skies, and villages rendered with bold brushwork and emotional depth. Exhibited across Africa and Europe, his work reminds us that creativity, like nature, endures.
