Historic day in Sacramento! ✊🏾📚
Oakland labor, education leaders, and city leadership joined together with Los Angeles Unified School District and UTLA for a joint lobby day advocating for fully funding public education through Proposition 98.
Representing Oakland were OEA President Kampala Taiz-Rancifer, SEIU Local 1021 President Trish Belenson, Superintendent Dr. Denise Saddler, Oakland City Council President Kevin Jenkins, School Board President Dr. Jennifer Brouhard, Vice President Valarie Bachelor, AFSCME President Michelle Jeter, and BCTC Chief Steward Besha Kuljulvic.
We were also proud to stand alongside Richard Barrera Richard Barrera, candidate for California State Superintendent of Public Instruction and former San Diego Unified School Board President.
