Save Astro Park

Save Astro Park Astro Park, also known as Eastshore Park, was ODOG’s proposed location for the Lakeview Dog Play Area.

Save Astro Park (www.saveastropark.org), was a group of over 2000 neighbors and concerned citizens who opposed this dog run. In May of 2012, Oakland's Planning Commission denied the permit application for the fenced dog run at the corner of Lakeshore Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. This denial was appealed to the Oakland City Council by the project sponsors. On August 5, 2014, the appeal was withdrawn, finally releasing Astro Park from consideration as a site for a fenced dog park.
