At BE, we believe every young person deserves a stable foundation to build that circle from. A safe home, consistent support, and the freedom to simply be yourself. Because chosen family flourishes when the conditions are right. 💛

Higher rates of unemployment, housing instability, substance use, and justice system involvement are just some of the barriers standing in the way.

That's where we come in. 💙

Happy Pride month from Beyond Emancipation!

LGBTQ+ youth are entering the foster care system at alarming rates. Studies show that anywhere from 20–34% of youth in foster care identify as LGBTQ+, despite making up only about 10% of the general youth population. Le***an, gay, and bisexual youth are nearly 2.5 times more likely to experience foster care than their heterosexual peers, and up to 40% of all homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+.

BE is a safe space for all, no matter what your gender or sexual orientation. 🏳️‍🌈💙
