Afro Comic Con Entertains, educates, and unites a diverse, global audience around comics, art media, technology, an

AfroComicCon The annual event is a celebration of Black Comic Book Arts and Culture the first of its kind which highlights regional and local artists in the areas of visual arts, dance, literature, stand-up comedy show, graphic novels, comic books, panel discussions, as well as an introduction to many paid internship opportunities, in the comic book and entertainment industry. AFCC is the first of its kind to be a Comic Book, Animation, arts festival, and birth here in Oakland CA. The festival host the widest spectrum of the Black Comic Book art of its kind attracting residents and visitors to come to Oakland and experience an array of free and modestly priced attendee tickets, workshops, exhibitions, and activities in a variety of venues. In addition to this AFCC will host its annual International Film Festival, where the film competition will be held online. AFCC programming has implemented the same opportunities for learning, how to craft stories through digital instruction, and literacy skills provided to participants learning how to tell their stories. This year’s theme within Afro-futurism focuses on the use of Animation, Cartooning, and other visual art forms to express their vision of an Afro-futuristic world, where we are incorporating an imaginary idea of storytelling aspect as a part of our goals to help preserve stories

AfroComicCon will be at COSMO CON! This Friday July 31st from 6 -10 pm, come out to the Chabot Space & Science Center! We will be curating the Costume Contest! Get ready and join us! What we are looking for: Accuracy
What we look at: If you are re-creating a costume from a sci-fi book, movie, TV show, anime, manga, or video game, we will be checking how faithful your costume, hair, makeup and props are to the character you’re dressing as. Hey AfroComicCon Family! We are having another great event in partnership with the Chabot Space & Science Center! Come out to first Friday in February that’s February 6 from 6 PM to 10 PM. There’s going to be amazing events from the center, and also brought to you a by Afro Comic Con some of our featured activities are a panel discussion about the history of Afrofuturism classes in Oakland, we are featuring independent game developers with a card game about African gods we have a talented live music performer, as well as the Afro Comic Con booth and Photo opportunities.
