Post-A-Potty Fund Needs You!

Dover Edible Park

Hi Dear Neighbors--

It's a new year--hello to 2026! And it's time to give to the porta-potty fund! It operates with neighborly $-love. We've been crowd-funding this service since 2020. The Honeybucket monthly rental with two cleanups each week comes to $410.05 per month. We've collected $283.14--another $127 to go--please chip in!
See the link to give below. Thanks so much!

We have a meeting coming up where folks can meet public officials to ask what is being done to address the housing crisis, the healthcare crisis, the mental health crisis, the substance use disorder crisis, the need for brick and mortar bathrooms, the need for more green spaces, the response to the federal government’s crackdown on immigrants and the resulting separation of children from parents……we'll keep you posted!

Dover Edible Park is an awesome food forest with a playground and huge lawn for playing and lounging about. Volunteer gardeners work year round to grow fruits and veggies that are available to all as needed.

To contribute, we have a Patreon account where you can make monthly contributions or a GoFundMe page if you wish to make a one-time contribution.

Hello all--Below is a message from our wonderful volunteer, Stephen. Among many other things, he manages the money for our Porta-potty. Having this facility makes the park more accessible to all. We're still about $100/month short of what we need. So please donate generously!
To contribute, we have a Patreon account where you can make monthly contributions (preferred) or a GoFundMe page if you wish to make a one-time contribution.

Thanks so much, Annie Goglia, Volunteer

Dover Edible Park is an awesome food forest with a playground and huge lawn for playing and lounging about. Volunteer gardeners work year round to grow fruits and veggies that are available to all as needed. Work days are typically Sundays from 11 to 2ish and Wednesdays from 3 to 6ish

The porta-potty operates with neighbor $-love. We've been crowd-funding this service since 2020. The Honeybucker monthly rental with two cleanups each week comes to $390.05. The porta potty is available to our children, nannies, parents, park enthusiasts, families, partiers, musicians, sun worshipers, gardeners, residents, volunteers and all neighborhood folk. We also try to keep soap at the sink.

Big shout outs: thank you Atlas for daily refuse pickup. Thank you compost crew for making a gorgeous dark and rich product each Wednesday afternoon. Big thanks to Hillary and River for supplying a worm box (check out these amazing slithering slimy wonders that make our compost the gold standard). Thank you Girl Scouts who recently harvested a whole bed of fava beans. In addition, they added much green refuse for composting, mulch was spread, the tamarillo tree was weeded and composted and one of the sidewalk trees was weeded and mulched. Thanks Kim and Will for bringing the youth.

We have a new city Park Supervisor, Manny Barros. Manny apparently has been recovering from a minor injury and hopefully soon we will all get a chance to meet him.

Hope to see you in the park soon.

Sincerely, Stephen

Hello fans of Dover Street Park--

Do you value this unique and wonderful park? One of the things that's happened to make the park more accessible is our portapotty. So helpful to the many people who use this park: families, volunteers and our friends who reside in the park! To bridge the gap this month, we need another $200. Please chip in if you are able! Even $5/month helps. Thanks so much!

Warmly, Annie, on behalf of all the Dover Street Park Volunteers

Join us for post-Thanksgiving Laughter Yoga fun & connection from 11-12 tomorrow morning. No mats or props are necessary, just a willingness to be silly with other folks! Annie Goglia, our fellow Dover Park volunteer, will lead us through gentle stretching, playful laughter scenarios, and even a laughter meditation!

'Curious about Composting? Bring your questions to SaraKay & Amos at 12 noon for a composting workshop. We will start a new compost pile together, so you will learn the basics of creating a new pile out of all sorts of materials that might be considered "garbage".

Please bring gloves, water, sunscreen, and your sense of humor!

You are also welcome to bring veggie & fruit scraps, newspaper, coffee grounds and dead leaves to add to our compost recipe!

Please Join Us at Any of these Dover Edible Park Events:

Sunday November 20th, 11-2:

Saturday November 26th, 11-noon:
Laughter Yoga (no mats or props, but lots of fun & connection!), 11-12, led by Annie Goglia, longtime Laughter Yoga leader! You'll feel great during & afterwards!

Composting Workshop (noon-1:30), for anyone curious about starting or getting more enjoyment out of their existing compost pile, led by SaraKay Gross & Amos Lans, Dover Park's compost crew leaders. Come learn all about compost critters! Adults & children accompanied by adults are all welcome!

Sunday December 4th, 11-2:
Pruning & Weeding our Pollinator Gardens to prepare them for winter. Help create welcoming habitats for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other friends. We may also plant some fruiting edible plants as well in other parts of the park. Led by Amos Lans & other Dover volunteers.

RSVP's will help us plan for these events!

Dear neighbors of Bushrod and Dover Street Park,

We are once against asking for your support in keeping our neighborhood accessible and clean!

If you've ever been to this lovely food forest and awesome community park with a playground and huge lawn for playing and lounging about - you'll see there's also a porta-potty that operates with neighbor $-love. We could use some more $$ to keep it going!

We've been crowd-funding to pay for the monthly operational services since we added the potty back in 2020 and this month, we're running low and are making an ask for your support, in the form of whatever funds you could throw down for the cause. $5-10-15-20-50 and more - it all makes a huge difference! This service helps keep the landscape clear of body waste and is a nice amenity for anyone who needs a bathroom while at the park. And we also keep soap at the sink, just inside the park. Please give today and help us keep this an active service.

To contribute, we have a Patreon account where you can make monthly contributions or a GoFundMe page if you wish to make a one-time contribution.
