We are deeply honored to be recognized by Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee in this year’s Annual Report.

For nearly two decades, the Clinic has remained committed to providing truly free healthcare to uninsured members of our community, offering consistent, reliable care close to home for thousands of patients across the East Bay and beyond.

This work is only possible because of our dedicated volunteers, generous supporters, healthcare partners, and community members who believe everyone deserves access to quality care.

Thank you for being part of this mission. ❤️

🏆✨ A Well-Deserved Honor! ✨🏆
Peralta Chancellor Dr. Tammeil Gilkerson has been inducted into the Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame! 👏💙

Recognized alongside pioneers in news media, law enforcement, technology, social justice & healthcare, Dr. Gilkerson's induction celebrates her transformational leadership and lasting impact on our community.

But in true Dr. Gilkerson fashion, she credited the entire Peralta family:
"I see this not as a personal achievement but as a recognition of all of us for the transformational work we are doing here in the Peralta Colleges every day."

The ceremony featured surprise guests including CA Community Colleges State Chancellor Dr. Sonya Christian, and was filled with heartfelt moments honoring decades of service to education and community.

Thank you so much to the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club Charitable Foundation for a generous 2025 grant to Rotary Nature Center Friends. This funding ensures that our California Naturalist Certification Course, "Urban Estuaries at Lake Merritt" can continue to be offered and that scholarships can be made available to local applicants in need.
