March Metal Madness

A brave group of girls and boys from Scouts BSA Troop 19 and Troop 17 visited a Brooklyn metal shop to learn about welding safety, equipment and methods. The Scouts shared why they were interested in welding—from touching stories about a grandparent's trade, to a love of crafts, to a colorful commentary that flying sparks are just cool! In the end, the Scouts used their skills to create personalized pieces of artwork and they were all successful in earning the Welding merit badge.
