AddictionHappens.org addictionhappens.org is a pain medication abuse awareness, education and prevention campaign of the Garrett County Opioid Misuse Prevention Program.

Pain med addiction is a city problem, and a rural problem. It’s a rich problem, and a poor one. It’s a white problem, and a black problem. It goes after your children with the same ferocity that it targets your parents. It may even decide to take you out. It’s a killer and it’s getting bigger. The abuse and misuse of pain medications is a growing problem nationally and right in our own communities
