48th California Homebew Competition (CHC) is almost here!!
We have rolled out the competition site for 2026 CHC at https://brewingcompetitions.com/chc/.
The website is open now for entrant, judge and volunteer registrations. All the dates are also finalized (see below for list of dates).
We are carrying over your accounts from prior years participation - so if you have created an account for CHC before, you do not need to create a new account.
We are happy to announce that we are still part of all circuits we were part of last year, namely, MHP's Circuit of America (https://www.masterhomebrewerprogram.com/circuit-of-america/2026-circuit-of-america), Sierra Nevada California Homebrewer of the Year (https://clubdoze.com/ca-hoty-award/), AMMA's Meadmaker of the year (https://mead-makers.org/national-mead-maker-of-the-year/) and California Homebrew Circuit (https://www.chbcircuit.com/)!
Entry fees remain unchanged at $12 for this year. Entry cap is 650 entries.
All other details remain the same (Shipping/Drop-off locations, Judging location etc.).
Here are the dates for 2026:
* Sept 12th 00.01am: CHC Registration Opens (Cap Limited to 10)
* Oct 10th 00.01am: CHC Registration Cap raised to 15 (if space available)
* Oct 10th: CHC Shipping/Drop off Window opens
* Oct 22nd 4pm: CHC Registration/Shipping/Drop-off Window closes
* Oct 24th: CHC Entry Sorting
* Oct 31st/1st: CHC Judging Weekend 1
* Nov 7th/8th: CHC Judging Weekend 2
* Nov 8th 3pm (Approx): Awards Ceremony
