Hi All - We are THRILLED to announce that Winner of California Homebrew Comp - CHC 2025 Steve Davidson and Co-Brewer Dirk Manders' Best Of Show Winning beer bbrewed at our host brewery Oakland United Beerworks is almost ready for a well anticipated roll-out!

Mark your calendar for Friday, February 27 for the release of "Oakstadt" Helles Bock. The brewery is open from 12-9pm and brewers themselves will be available from 5pm on-wards.

As we head into the Final weekend of judging and Awards Ceremony - we would like to take a moment to thank everyone - especially our sponsors! Putting on a competition of this size and caliber is not possible without help and support of all our volunteers and sponsors!

CHC Day 1 Judging underway!!

CHC 2025 is officially underway. About 560-570 entries (when all is said and done) will be received (out of 600 entered/paid for entries).

Big Sort day was yesterday. We went from things not fitting into Walk In prior to sorting to pretty nicely compact packing post sorting.

All entrants should see their entries checked in except those exceptional cases (I contacted each of you individually). 3 bottles were damaged in shipping, 2 boxes were turned around by shipping company but all the rest were processed and checked in.

First judging session was today!

More judging sessions next weekend and final judging on Nov 1/2 with awards ceremony at 3pm on Nov 2nd.

CHC Entries are closed as we reached our 600 cap slightly past midnight on Sep30th/Oct1st night. Sorry if you missed the window.

However, the way it works is that sometimes if someone cancels/deletes a paid entry, it may open up for a while for someone to enter/pay for an entry. So keep an eye on it if you want to still enter.

Hi Everyone - we are at 554 paid entries as of now (614 registered). Please note that there is a limit of 600 PAID entries for the competition. Once 600 entries are paid for - no more entries will be allowed to be paid for.

Further - tonight (mid-night) the entry count per entrant will be increased to 15 (5 more for those that entered 10 already) and competition is likely hit 600 entry limit tonight.

So if you have registered but not paid for your entry - do it today! 🙂

Whoa!! The Best of Show Trophies have arrived - these are solid thick metal trophies that can be displayed proudly on the wall of each of our best of show winners!

We are 2 weeks into the entry window and we are at 551 out of 600 entries for this competition. If you are still planning to enter - make sure to enter ASAP.

Note also that the entry limit is 600 PAID entries. So if your entry is not paid - it does not count! Make sure you pay for your registered entries as soon as possible.

Remember that per entrant entry count rises by 5 to 15 on Oct 1st. But that may end up being a moot point!

New Medals are in - in our excitement - we ordered the next larger size. Which is cool but we did not realize how heavy they are. So make sure to strengthen those neck muscles - especially if you are planning to win more than one!! 🙂
