At the morning Zim blockade shift with coffee and snacks for the protestors and striking workers. They honored the strike and prevented offloading in the morning shift.
We're back out there now for the evening shift, come say hi!

QUICC stands in solidarity with the survivors and descendants of the Tulsa Race Massacre.

Words alone cannot provide any sort of justice or closure for the horrors that took place 100 years ago today. We must stand together against racism and hate. We must amplify voices seeking to educate the public on our often omitted history. We must use our actions to create change and keep each other safe.

Reparations now.

What a weekend! Got the new van all set up and ready to roll!

- mounted the shelves and drawers
- built a storage box/headboard out of a shield from and scrap metal from
- filled/organized/labeled all the drawers with medical supplies
- transferred the AED, snacks, and water from the blue van
- mounted wire baskets for additional storage
- installed new wiper blades and floor mats
- cleaned the exterior and started cutting vinyl decals
- diagnosed the issue with the central power locks (the motors are warn out, which is a cheap replacement, but lots of work to disassemble the lock actuator units in each of the 4 front doors)

Super excited to have Andromeda ready to go to the next action! It's going to be really nice having space for someone to lay down fully stretched out inside the van, is 5'11" and fit with room to spare!

Y'all we got a van! 🚐

, the owner of our iconic blue van, is going to be moving to NYC in May to help start . With them taking their van, we were worried that we wouldn't have a van here to keep providing supplies and transportation at protests and unhoused supply distribution.

It just so happened that we found a seller on Craigslist that wanted to trade his van for a motorcycle, and Maeve had been trying to sell their old bike for months, so we set up a trade! Incredible how serendipitous it all was ✨

We've dubbed the new van Andromeda, and it's the same model as the existing van, Milky Way. Over the next couple months we'll get it all set up with shelves and drawers and accessories and supplies so it will be ready to take over when Milky Way heads to the east coast.

Thank you all so much for your continued support! Our hearts go out to the AAPI Community as these racist fu***rs continue to destroy lives. Y'all deserve so much better than this. If there's anything we can provide to help comrades out during all of this, DM us.

Breonna Taylor. Say her name.

The three cops that killed Breonna fired 32 rounds into her apartment in under 2 minutes.

Over 525,600 minutes have passed since then.

How many more minutes will pass until the racist bastards that killed her will be held accountable, and how many more after that until the system that allowed this to happen will be torn down?

Rest in Power, Breonna ♥️

It's been 1 year since Breonna was murdered by LMPD and still no justice. We say "no justice, no peace" because the system isn't going to change until we force it to, so let's show the f**k up for Breonna on Saturday to show that we're sick of being ignored, sick of BIPOC being abused and killed by the people and systems that run this country ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻

From .the.block.sj ♥️

Two of our community members, a single parent and child are currently at risk of becoming unhoused. They need funds to find a place to stay temporarily and then to find an apartment and put down a deposit. It is very difficult for parents with minor children to find shelter using city services. Please help us support them by donating via the links below. Please tag your donation rent relief

Emergency Alert from .outreach.sj .the.block.sj 🚨

MASS DISTRIBUTION OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND SAFE HEATERS FOR OUR UNHOUSED NEIGHBORS

Yesterday, an established encampment by Hwy 87, burned in a fire, endangering the families and individuals that reside there and destroying vital resources.

Fires plague encampments throughout the city but officials have failed to provide residents with fire extinguishers or fire-safe heating methods.

All money will be directly used in the purchase of fire extinguishers or heaters. We will share accountability updates including pictures of receipts.

HELP US FILL THIS NEED FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY

⚠️ For months, the City of San Jose has been planning to remove approximately 400 people living at Hedding field, while offering no safe or substantial alternatives for shelter. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS for this community, especially right now. This is predicted to be the harshest winter of the past decade, making it even more difficult for people to relocate. On top of that, the CDC guidelines strongly encourage against the moving of encampments during the COVID-19 pandemic unless in a dire emergency where health is risked.

🌧 The City is using the COVID-19 pandemic, inclimate weather conditions, lack of resources, and location instability to ABUSE its citizens. This UNDEVELOPED LAND is owned by the City of San Jose and there are rumors that it is being SOLD to a private corporation. We must all work together and do everything in our power to make sure this does not happen and these people are protected. If you’ve ever moved, you know you need lots of resources - most of which are inaccessible to this population.

❤️ So how can you help...?

We are looking for donations of the following resources:

-Moving supplies (ex. boxes, rope, tape, bubble wrap, and storage containers that animals can’t get into)

-Building supplies to repair and reinforce dwellings (ex. wood, nails, hammers, screws, and screw drivers)

-Cleaning supplies (ex. trash bags, shovels, and rakes)

-Food and personal items (ex. hot meals & care packages with items like socks, toothpaste/brushes, sanitary products, hand sanitizer/soap, PPE, etc.)

-Money donations for things like car maintenance, vehicle towing, and emergency housing.

DONATE to on Venmo and $BLACKOutreachSJ on CashApp.

FOLLOW .The.Block.SJ .Outreach.SJ and for updates as we continue to fight the system and protect our community.

Special thanks to…

We’re so grateful for their help and support. This is what community looks like.
