Mental Health Friday 💚

Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone.

When life feels heavy and your thoughts are racing, grounding techniques can help bring you back to the present moment. Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method:

-5 things you can see
-4 things you can feel
-3 things you can hear
-2 things you can smell
-1 thing you can taste

This simple exercise can help calm your mind, reduce anxiety, and refocus your attention on what is happening right now.

Remember, it’s okay to pause. It’s okay to ask for help. And it’s okay to prioritize your mental health.

📞 If overwhelm feels constant, contact A. L. Willis Life Center for resources at 925-264-9663.

Mental Health Friday 💚

Academic pressure can be overwhelming, and constantly striving to perform can take a toll on mental health. Remember: grades, test scores, and achievements do not define your worth.

Your well-being matters more than perfection. It’s okay to ask for help, take breaks, and prioritize your mental and emotional health.

You are more than your performance. 💚

📞 Support is available through A. L. Willis Life Center at 925-264-9663.

This morning, A. L. Willis Life Center had the honor of serving our unhoused community a hot breakfast filled with love and care — turkey sausage, eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit. ❤️

A warm meal may seem simple, but for many, it’s a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission of showing compassion through action and serving our community with dignity.

🌿 Mental Health Friday

Setting boundaries is an act of self-care. Boundaries aren’t about shutting people out—they’re about protecting your peace, energy, and emotional well-being.

Healthy boundaries can reduce burnout, improve relationships, and help prevent resentment from building over time. It’s okay to say “no,” take space when needed, and prioritize your mental health.

Learning boundaries takes practice, and support can help along the way.

🌿 Mental Health Friday

Your thoughts are not always facts.
Sometimes our minds tell stories rooted in fear, not truth.

Challenge negative thoughts by asking: Is this true? Is this helpful?

🧠 Try this today:
Write down one negative thought and reframe it into something more balanced.

Today, A. L. Willis Life Center had the honor of serving our community ❤️

We distributed pizza, chips, and water to 67 single individuals and family units living in trailers, all awaiting permanent housing. Moments like this remind us why we do this work-showing up, meeting needs, and standing in the gap.

A huge THANK YOU to all of this month’s donors! We truly could not have done this without you. Your support makes a direct impact in the lives of those we serve 🙏🏽

Interested in joining us?
Next month, we’ll be serving a buffet brunch at a local shelter, and we’d love to partner with you!

📩 Inbox us for more details on how you can get involved.

🌿 Mental Health Friday

What we consume online affects how we feel offline.
Constant scrolling can increase anxiety, comparison, and overwhelm without us even realizing it.

Taking intentional breaks from social media-even for a few hours-can help reset your mind, improve your mood, and bring you back to the present.

📱 Try this today:
Log off, take a walk, connect with someone in real life, or spend time doing something that brings you peace.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.
