Welcome to the OWL Conservancy Page for those interested in becoming Founding Directors. Founding Directors of the OWL Board will give birth to the OWL Conservancy and then set its path to maturity. If you are interested in bringing your passion, insight or expertise to help form the future as a Founding Board Member, please read on.
Thru a team effort in concert with legal counsel the Board will create OWL's bylaws, negotiate terms with the Ramapo Mountain Lakes Association (RML), develop an initial set of regulations, plot the amenities OWL will offer, and format the first year's budget and fee structure. Once the structure of OWL is set as detailed above, the Board will commence into the follow on stages of development.
In stage 2 we will regularly engage directly with our prospective membership through open board meetings, as we determine first year operational pursuits. These will range from prioritization of necessary lake maintenance and improvements, to investment in new income sources, to further development of beach club operations, to the development of our campaigns: OWL marketing and exposure, community ecological education, and government outreach.
OWL Conservancy Founding Directors' initial term of service on the Board will be approximately 1-2 years, dependent on which seat is occupied and the directives of the bylaws which are written. Only members of the RML community are eligible for consideration for appointment at this time. RML dues status or pre-indenture will NOT be a disqualifier. Directors & Officers of the RML Board who were appointed via a general election from 2020-2022 will not be eligible for the OWL Conservancy Founding Board.
