An old record shouldn’t erase a person’s future. Period.

After returning home from prison, .amador_official worked toward his associate’s degree, only to be told that some career paths would remain closed to him. SB 731 gave him renewed hope that his education and accomplishments could help define his future.

“Organizations like Time Done help justice-impacted individuals better their lives and give them something to stay on the straight path moving forward.”

After spending more than 21 years incarcerated, Mike knows how important support and second chances can be. Time Done is helping formerly incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives with resources, guidance, and hope for a better future, because when your time is done, it should be done. 💙

The narrative is wrong.

Justice-impacted people are often portrayed as if they don’t care about public safety, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

As Denise (TimeDone Member Support Manager) shares, these are individuals who want the same things as everyone else: safe communities, good schools, and a better future for their families.

No one makes it alone.

For Nichole second chances didn’t just change her life, community did and played such a vital role for her.

After 15 years in a California women’s facility, her journey forward was shaped by people who believed in her, showed up for her and loved her, even before she could do that for herself.

That’s the power of second chances.

And now, it’s about paying it forward, because when people are supported, they succeed.

During Second Chance Month, we’re honoring the communities that make transformation possible. Please join us in this fight in our link in bio

Punishment doesn’t build safer communities.

As TimeDone National Director, Saad Soliman explains, the U.S. justice system has shaped a mindset rooted in retribution, but the reality tells a different story.

Nearly all people who are incarcerated will return home. And when they do, the question is simple: will they have access to opportunity, or will they be met with stigma?

Without pathways to jobs, stability, and support, we’re not creating safety, we’re creating cycles.

During Second Chance Month, we’re pushing for a shift in how we think: from punishment to possibility.
