We can’t stress enough how much we love and value our Counselors!😍 Camp Legacy is unique because of them and their ability to harness ✨Black Joy✨ for campers each session! We are so incredibly grateful for the Counselors that prioritize coming back each year to continue to pour into our campers and help us define the culture of Camp Legacy! ✊🏾☺️

Did you know Alex & Gel were Girl Scouts back in the day?! We attended a camping trip and my only memories were getting terribly car sick on the way up, struggling to build my tent, having to use a smelly port-a-potty, and freezing at night! 🤢⛺️🥶 it was a complete comfort shock and I could not understand why we were out here. I remember thinking “what’s the point of all this?”

Looking back, I still don’t know what the point was but thankfully that trip didn’t stain my relationship with the outdoors forever 😂

And that’s really what childhood is like, millions of moments that play together to make us who we are today. That memory and experience is vivid and while I can’t fully name how it impacted me, I know it did.

We know our campers experience at Camp Legacy leaves a more pronounced positive impression than my Girls Scout camping trip and hope they don’t go home and think “what’s the point?” but rather “I need that experience again!”☺️
