AB 1279 Pathways to Justice

This bill aims to promote fairness, public safety, and Rehabilitation for youth for by ensuring that a prior juvenile adjudication is not used as a “strike” to enhance an adult sentence.

This bill does not change a judge’s discretion to consider a person’s past adjudications during sentencing, reasonably sentence a youth for their offenses, or to transfer a child to criminal court to be tried as an adult if the court determines that the child will not benefit from the rehabilitative and educational services of juvenile delinquency court.

📌📌AB800 Price Gouging Vending Machine CDCR Prison's Support Letter's 📌📌
We are reaching out to request your support for AB 800 (Ortega), a critical bill that aims to end price gouging in prison visiting rooms by capping excessive markups on vending machine items. This legislation offers much-needed financial relief to incarcerated individuals and their families and helps ensure that visits remain affordable, accessible, and centered on connection not cost.

We need your feedback to help end price gouging in vending machines at correctional facilities. If you've visited a facility recently and used their vending machines, we want to hear from you! Your responses will directly contribute to efforts to improve pricing fairness and food quality for families and loved ones.

Survey Topics Include:

* Quality and variety of available food

* Restocking practices

* Special event or holiday items

* Refund policies and more
