To thank Sandy Brinley for all her work on the Oakhurst River Parkway. We've dedicated Teddy Bear Park to Sandy. She even has her own bear! Thank you everyone who came out to celebrate Sandy and all her accomplishments. Thanks to Oakhurst Sierra Rotary for their work for many, many years along the parkway as well. What an incredible community!

Hey mountain friends! ❄️ While the fresh snow makes our home in Eastern Madera County look like a total winter wonderland, it also means we need to take a little extra care on the roads. If you're heading out on Highway 41 or Highway 49, make sure you're prepared for the conditions!

CalTrans often implements chain requirements during these storms to keep everyone safe. Here’s a quick refresher on the levels:

🚗 R1: Chains required on all vehicles except passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks with snow tires on at least two drive wheels.
🚗 R2: Chains required on all vehicles except 4WD and AWD vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels.
🚗 R3: Chains required on all vehicles: no exceptions!

Even if you have 4WD, remember that you're still required to carry chains in your vehicle when traveling through chain control areas. It’s always better to be prepared!

Stay safe out there and enjoy the cozy vibes. Before you head out, check the Caltrans QuickMap or call 1-800-427-7623 for real-time updates.

Safe travels through Oakhurst, Coarsegold, North Fork, and Bass Lake! 🏔️✨
