Oakham Fire Association has established a scholarship fund in honor of Gretchen Nahkala, who was a true back bone to our fire association and town.

Gretchen loved to teach in her spare time. We miss her dearly and thought what a wonderful way to give back to our community with an educational opportunity in her honor.

We are offering this wonderful opportunity to one lucky person, there is no age limit but preference will be held to those currently in high school, who are going to school for the following.

On behalf of the entire Oakham Fire Association, we would like to thank you all for all of the love and support that we have received today. Tomorrow is the day for our annual Chicken BBQ at Oaktoberfest!! Serving hotdogs and burgers at 5pm. We will start serving chicken at 5:30pm, tickets sales will be happening throughout the day pending we don’t run out of chicken. This meal has sold out in the past so get your tickets early!!

Reach out to any member for some chicken BBQ tickets!! In order to ensure we have enough for expected demand, we suggest purchasing a ticket sooner than the event! We will have tickets available for pre sale prior to serving the same day as well. We are so excited to serve you! You won’t want to miss this year’s yummy meal. Included in the meal ticket you get a chicken of what you see below, a baked potato, a side salad, a beverage, a roll, and a table talk pie!!!

On our tickets this year you will notice a few different names on the back, these names are from the companies that have chose to sponsor and support us. For chips at this year’s BBQ, we have Frito Lay! We fully support Frito-Lay, and appreciate all that they do for our small town. A huge shout out to Paul and a big thank you to Frito-Lay!!
