Progress has been slow this month, we’ve all had things pulling us other directions! But we’re still working on our layout! This wye has been tricky, trying to get the pieces cut just right. Still have the lower half to cut.

We might not be running trains yet, but we’re hoping to have an open house during Irrigation Days in Oakes! More details to come!

Some of our latest work! Trying to get the tracks to match the drawings we created in SCARM.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted any updates. This is our master plan, as of right now. There will be a few minor changes once we start laying track.

We intend to model part of it for the local area. There’s three of us that work for DMVW, and the closest loop in the drawing will be local industries we serve.

The peninsula will not have tracks, it will feature part of the town of Oakes. The right hand side of the layout will be freelance. The module on the left hand side will be steam, as our newest member models that!

Testing the total voltage one LocoFi locomotive pulls on each of our power supplies. At near full throttle with all lights, bell and horn the max voltage was 1.2-1.3. This electrical setup will allow us to run as many trains at the same time as we want!
