Oakdale Garden Club

Oakdale Garden Club The Oakdale Garden Club was established in the early 1900’s to plant trees, gardens and flowers in Oakdale, California.

Many of those trees that were planted remain standing tall today. In spring the blooming Dogwoods are spectacular and a great pride to the city. Today, the club is dedicated to continuing the efforts of our early pioneers and are committed to educating the community along all horticulture lines in the conservation of natural resources and increasing the community’s knowledge and interest in garden

ing. Over the years the club has undertaken many city beautification projects including planting trees into our city parks, local museums grounds, a beautiful rose garden at the our local Oak Valley Hospital, and many projects were done at our Citizen’s Cemetery. In addition to these projects, the club recently demonstrated and landscaped an area of our Oakdale Post Office using drought resistant native plants and materials including a drip irrigation system to conserve water use. The club is also leading a education project and promotion of Dogwood tree planting throughout the city to raise awareness. In the fall the club hosts a Autum Garden Tour showcasing home gardens throughout Oakdale. This is a Fundraising event that allows the club to continue many projects. It’s also a great way to learn about the club and its projects.
