🔥 Scout skills meet real-world challenges!

Last week, our Scouts got a basic demonstration on using a WhisperLite-style stove. 🍳

And of course, the wind decided to join the lesson! 💨😂

🏕️But that’s the point—campouts don’t always come with perfect conditions. Scouts learn to adapt, problem-solve, and keep going!

Practice now. Be prepared later. ⚜️

Not every Scout is going to become a professional camper, wilderness expert, or master knot-tyer. 😆

⚜️But every Scout has the opportunity to gain skills that will matter long after they hang up their uniform.

🏕️ Get outside and experience real adventure.
🪢 Learn practical skills they’ll actually use in life.
🧭 Build confidence and independence.
🤝 Work as a team and make lifelong friendships.
💡Develop leadership skills and learn how to solve problems.
💪 Learn resilience, responsibility, and perseverance.

And yes… they might also learn how to cook dinner over a campfire, tie a knot that actually holds, and survive a weekend without Wi-Fi. 😉

Scouting isn’t just about preparing for the next campout. It’s about preparing for life.

🚿 Should You Shower? The answer is always YES. 😂

🏕️Whether you’re at summer camp for a whole week or out on a weekend campout, there’s one piece of advice every Scout should follow:

YES. YOU. SHOULD. SHOWER.

Think of it as a community service project. Your fellow Scouts, leaders, and especially your tent neighbors will thank you. 😂

We can’t take credit for creating this hilarious graphic, but we sure appreciate whoever did! It may be the most important camping flowchart ever created. 🧼

Our Scouts were proud to participate in the Betting on Our Future (BOOF) initiative, helping educate our community about the dangers of teen gambling while promoting healthy choices, positive activities, and a strong lifestyle. 💪

This marks our second year partnering with California Friday Night Live, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an important program. We hope to continue working with this awesome organization and making a positive impact in our community!

Troop 43 was honored to be the Nonprofit of the Week at our local Morning Market! We are so fortunate to have an incredible community market that not only brings people together, but also supports and shines a spotlight on local organizations. ❤️

👏A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to say hello, learn more about Scouting, and support our Scouts by picking up some delicious popcorn! 🍿

Your support helps our Scouts learn, lead, serve, and adventure—and we are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive community behind us.

🏕️ We saw these signs at Bass Pro and, honestly… they had us at s’more.

“Camping is cheaper than therapy.”
“Life is a little more lovely at the lake.”
“When in doubt, go camping.”

Sounds like pretty solid Scout advice to us! 😎

At Troop 43, we believe fresh air, muddy shoes, campfires, good friends, and a little adventure can fix just about anything. And if they can’t… add s’mores. 🍫🔥
